Wanted to report on the Johannes Westendarp clinic that Jaye Cherry hosted.. It was attended by Jaye, a few of her clients, Hilda Gurney and Lehua, myself and my client Karina, Sabine Shute-Kery and a few other riders. I rode Ransom and Enzo, Karina’s horse. She rode the 2nd day. Karina rode really well and had some lovely simple changes thru the walk, which have been difficult to master as Enzo was an ex jumper as well. Ransom settled into the work, as Johannes concentrated on relaxation. That is what he needs. He is an extremely sensitive, hot horse. This is very good, and also difficult to ride. A twig snapping can send him across the arena. I was very pleased with his work over the three days and a great way to prepare for the show this weekend..
Steffan Wolff will be here this weekend so I’ll get to work my little monster Dafoe (I should have named him Dennis the Mennis!) with Steffan. He is really doing well carrying himself and doing his 2nd/3rd level work..
Johannes is very positive and encouraging yet firm with all his students.. it was a great clinic..
